| The Technology |
| Scooter 4000e | EVT scooters use an electric motor
to drive the rear wheel directly. Power is supplied from four sealed,
lead-acid batteries giving a nominal 48 volts with a 50 amp-hour capacity.
This power is delivered to the motor by an EVT proprietary electronic
controller which is in turn controlled by the throttle twist grip.
The batteries may be re-charged overnight by simply plugging in the battery charger supplied with the scooter. The scooter is simple to use: just switch it on and twist the throttle! |

The Hub Motor: EVT scooters use a patented, EVT designed, small, powerful electric motor that is an integral part of the rear wheel hub. It requires no drive chain, belts or gears and is therefore as efficient as it is possible to be. The coil half of the motor rotates with the wheel while the magnet half is fixed to the axle. The only wearing components are the brushes and they have a life of more than 10,000 km. |

The Motor Controller:This is the electronic device that interprets the rider's throttle movements and turns them into power control for the motor. It also monitors the battery condition to use the available energy in the most efficient way. The proprietary EVT design's amazing performance won the German Energy Saving Contest Champion award from 2001 to 2004. The controller has an inbuilt self-diagnostic tool that monitors any malfunction in the scooter, enabling an accurate and speedy diagnosis of any problem, resulting in faster and cheaper repairs.

| Batteries:
EVT scooters are provided with sealed lead acid batteries intended for cyclic use. With proper charging, they can last for more than 360 cycles, which can be as high as 23,000 kms. As new battery technology becomes available, it will be a simple matter to fit enhanced battery packs giving even greater range. Changing the battery pack is quite straightforward and can be carried out quickly and efficiently by your local dealer. | |

Intelligent Battery Charger: The battery charger provided monitors the battery state as it charges. This means that the battery pack is provided with the optimum charge rate for it's condition and also that overcharging is not possible. The user simply plugs in the charger and it will shut itself down when the battery reaches full charge. Keeping the battery pack in the highest possible state of charge at all times is the key to prolonging it's life and getting the best performance from it. |
